Preston (Remote/Travel across North of England)
£35,000 - £45,000 Car Allowance and Benefits
Cast UK are supporting a family-owned leading animal bedding specialist company with the recruitment process of a Field Buying Executive for their Preston Area. As the Field Buying Executive, you will be working autonomously researching the right companies to target so you can plan visits and negotiate the buying of sawdust and wood excess they may have as a by-product of their production.
Responsibilities
- Manage and develop a comprehensive supplier base
- Travel over the North West and surrounding counties to woodworking businesses
- Sourcing and negotiating contracts with suppliers for sawdust and other products.
- Agree Service Level Agreements and timeframes for contracts with suppliers
- Undertake price negotiations with and purchasing terms with suppliers
- Arrange regular meetings with main suppliers to discuss their innovations
- Developing and maintaining relationships with suppliers and customers.
- Ensuring all necessary paperwork is completed for each contract.
- Raise all purchase orders and manage price data
- Arrange shipments from required suppliers
- Update system and suppliers with due dates
- Liaise with finance re supplier payments
Requirements
- Experienced in field based buying or selling roles
- Willing to travel over the North West and surrounding counties to bring on new clients
- Have excellent organisational and time management skills
- Possess excellent attention to detail, be self-driven and show initiative
- Excellent numerical skills
- Good level of written English
- Have intermediate/ IT skills - especially Microsoft Excel
- Be confident and have a positive, professional, can do attitude
- Ideally have experience in the Timber industry
- Buyer/shipping background desirable
- Fantastic Sales and Negotiation skills
- Key Account Management and Customer Service Experience
