Role Profile
Our client, a major retailer based in Liverpool, is looking for a Buying Assistant to join the team to cover a period of maternity leave starting end of January 2020. This is a brilliant opportunity for someone eager to kickstar their buying career, joining a lively team within a business that is growing consisently year-on-year.

Key responsibilities include;

• Supporting the Buyer on a day-to-day basis
• Taking charge of the department's admin
• Negotiating with suppliers
• Developing a balanced and creative product range
• Maintaining all aspects of the critical path with members of the team
• Ensuring the smooth running of the development process
• Maintaining schedules and key deadlines
• Production and maintenance of reports with the ultimate aim of organising professional supplier review meetings

Skills & Experience
To be successful in the role, you must be able to demonstrate experience in the following areas:

• Some experience/ understanding of a BAA role is essential
• Commercially aware
• Strong relationship builder
• Drive and motivation
• Good level of IT ability including Microsoft Excel
• Enthusiastic, team player who can also work on own initiative
