Role Profile
Cast UK are supporting our client, who is a leading logistics business, in their recruitment process for a Depot Manager, based in London. Reporting to the Logistics Director you will oversee a team of 50 to 60 professionals within a busy Depot.
Key Accountabilities:
- Accountable for ensuring company operating metrics within the depot are delivered.
- Ensure depot costs are managed to budget, with appropriate colleague rota planning and scheduling to meet anticipated activity levels.
- Ensure the depot operates safely and that all colleagues are aware of their personal obligations and commitment to being serious about safety..
- Improve the operational effectiveness and efficiency of the depot and develop a culture of operational excellence.
- Ensure appropriate training plans are in place for all colleagues to ensure their skill and competence meet their job role requirements.
- Overall responsibility for the transport function alongside the Transport manager.
Skills & Experience
- Financial understanding and cost management.
- Operational experience gained within a fast-paced environment.
- Comfortable leading a team of operatives in a busy environment, providing leadership and development to the team.
- Knowledge of appropriate legislation and its impact on operation.
- Experience in transport management.
