Role Profile
Cast UK are supporting a well established Retailer with the recruitment process of a Head of Category. Reporting to the Head of Purchasing, you will be responsible for leading the purchasing of products and services within your particular category. You will also be responsible for influencing the long term strategy within the purchasing department.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, direct, and co-ordinate the activities within your category for the purchasing of products & services
- Ensure consistent delivery of Procurement solutions in alignment with the businesses needs
- Deliver quality, service and value for money, consistently, to all areas of business
- Work closely with management team to agree and deliver the purchasing strategy
- Negotiation of all pricing, rebates, marketing agreements, catalogue contributions and early payment discounts
- Assess tenders from potential suppliers
Skills & Experience
- CIPS qualified or equivalent (desirable)
- Previous management experience
- Computer Literate
- Must be able to understand key purchasing strategies
- Experience of Non-Food purchasing would be ideal
