Role Profile
Cast UK is leading the search for a H&S Advisor. The role will report directly in to the SHEQ Manager and will cover all matter related to Health and Safety across the hospitality and catering division.The role will be responsible for ensuring that all safety and environmental legislation is adhered to and all policies and practices are adopted throughout the organisation. This role will also develop over time to cover both Quality and Enviroment therefore the willingness to learn in these areas is required.
Responsibilities:
- Developing a continuous improvement environment in all relevant quality and H&S processes
- Communicating relevant information and feedback to department staff to ensure all employees are fully informed about any safety, quality and environmental-related matters
- Working with the senior management team on the formulation of safety, quality and environmental policies, objectives, and targets for the business
- Monitoring and managing non-conformances with audit recommendations and supporting preventative strategies through effectiveness reviews
- Responsible for managing all internal and external safety, quality and environmental audits, ensuring they are completed effectively and in a timely manner
- Remaining informed about relevant safety, quality and environmental accreditations, best practice guidance, and ensuring the business operates within those standards
- Ensuring fire safety standards are met through relevant safety protocols and emergency evacuation exercises
- Ensuring risk assessments and safe systems of work are up to date and communicated to relevant staff
- Hosting safety, quality and environmental meetings to communicate KPI and trends data, findings, and other outcomes to relevant attendees
- Ensure senior managers are up to date with any work issues that may affect operations and/or deadlines
Requirements:
- Proven experience working in a H&S role, ideally within a logistics/distribution business.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise verbally and confidently with employees and customers at all levels
- Approachable and professional demeanour with ability to engage at all levels
- Knowledge of BRC and ISO accreditations would be advantageous
- NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety
- Ability to use Microsoft packages including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Proficient in maintaining and presenting data spreadsheets incorporating formulas and graphs
