Are you an experienced HR professional ready to take full ownership of site-level HR within a thriving manufacturing business in the Merseyside area?
We are seeking a confident, commercially minded HR Business Partner to lead and deliver a comprehensive, compliant and forward-thinking HR service which is aligned to both local site priorities and wider business strategy.
This is a senior, hands-on role with real influence, balancing strategic HR leadership with operational accountability.
What will the role involve?
- Assuming full accountability for site HR operations, governance, and compliance
- Acting as the main point of contact for all people related matters on site, providing HR advice to line managers and the senior leadership team
- Building constructive relationships within a unionised manufacturing environment
- Translating the wider business' HR strategy into effective, practical local implementation
Key areas of responsibility include:
- Payroll delivery, accuracy and compliance
- Pension schemes, policies, and governance
- HR policy development and local implementation
- Employee relations and disciplinary processes
- Absence management and occupational health provision
- Recruitment and workforce planning
- Headcount management
- Employee onboarding and future engagement
Ideal Skills and Experience
- Proven track record in a previous Business Partner or Senior HR Manager role
- Experience working within an operational environment, such as Manufacturing, Engineering or Logistics
- Confidence managing HR within a unionised environment
- Comfortable handling complex employee relations cases
- Experience in payroll and pension scheme governance
- Strong commercial awareness, with the ability to balance business needs with compliance
- Calm and credible demeanour with strong influencing skills
- Detail-focused with strong analytical and governance capability
