Drive Operational Transformation in a Growing Manufacturing Business

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Interim Operations Transformation Lead to join a fast-paced manufacturing and fulfilment business embarking on a significant operational transformation.

This is not a traditional operations management role. You'll be responsible for reshaping operational processes, preparing the business for the successful implementation of a new ERP/MIS platform, and leaving behind a sustainable, scalable operation that can continue to grow long after your engagement ends.

Working closely with operational leaders and the systems implementation team, you'll bridge the gap between technology and the shop floor, ensuring that processes, data and people are fully prepared for a successful system go-live.

The Role

You will play a pivotal role in transforming operational performance by:

• Mapping and documenting end-to-end production and fulfilment processes
• Creating structured routings, Bills of Materials (BOMs), work instructions and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
• Transforming warehouse operations into a location-controlled, barcode-driven environment
• Improving inventory accuracy through robust goods-in processes, cycle counting and stock control
• Analysing capacity, production flow and cycle times to improve operational efficiency and delivery performance
• Supporting ERP/MIS implementation through master data preparation, operational testing, training and go-live activities
• Leading operational change management and embedding new ways of working across production and warehouse teams
• Coaching and developing internal operational leaders to ensure a smooth transition following implementation
• Helping establish a sustainable planning function capable of supporting future growth

This engagement has been designed to evolve over time, with hands-on involvement reducing as knowledge is successfully transferred into the business.

About You

We're looking for an experienced operational transformation professional who has successfully delivered complex change within manufacturing or fulfilment environments.

You'll ideally have experience in:

• Leading operational transformation projects within manufacturing, production or fulfilment environments
• Warehouse redesign, including barcode scanning, location control and inventory accuracy improvements
• Delivering ERP, WMS or manufacturing systems implementations from an operational leadership perspective
• Process mapping, workflow design, SOP creation and continuous improvement
• Training, coaching and leading teams through operational change
• Using operational data to improve efficiency, productivity and customer service

Experience within print, apparel, manufacturing, distribution or fulfilment environments would be highly advantageous, although candidates from other complex production settings with transferable experience are also encouraged to apply.
