Role Profile

Cast UK are working in partnership with Bunzl Catering Supplies, the leading distributor of disposables, packaging and hygiene solutions to the hospitality and catering, public sector, education, and healthcare. The business is witnessing continued growth across their operations by the successful attraction of new customers and the development of existing accounts.

The successful candidate will hold full accountability for the warehouse, transport operations, facilities and also be responsible for the P&L Management. The candidate undertaking this role will need to have exceptional leadership and communications skills in order to develop their team and communicate with both internal and external stakeholders.

The Operations Manager will be responsible for the management of all operational processes to ensure the effective flow of goods into, through and out of the warehouse to the point of delivery. This position will maintain focus on lean principles to ensure the operation remains an efficient, low-cost operator, whilst maintaining all service level agreements which vary depending on operating company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Full P&L accountability for the site.
  • Develop annual warehouse and Transport budgets for discussion with senior management.
  • Manage and deploy resources across the branch to optimize business results.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant HR, Security, SHEQ policies and procedures,
  • Manage, support and coach the management team ensuring effective progression plans are in place.
  • Communicate effectively across all departments and shifts to ensure continuity.
  • Ensure staff engagement and welfare levels are positive and in line with the values of the business.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Must be a proven leader of people in a busy warehouse environment.
  • Have the ability to influence other and establish good relationships both internally and externally.
  • Proven track record of managing operational change and delivering operational efficiency and service level agreements
  • Strong leadership skills with focus on colleague engagement, empowerment, and overall development
  • Commercially astute with experience in managing significant budgets and P&L's
  • The ability to develop and apply KPI's to measure and improve performance across the site.
