Role Profile

Cast UK are supporting our client, who is a leading logistics business, in their recruitment process for an Operations Manager, based in Solihull. Reporting to the Regional Operations Manager you will oversee a team of 45 to 50 professionals within a busy Depot.

Key Accountabilities:

• Accountable for ensuring company operating metrics within the depot are delivered.
• Ensure depot costs are managed to budget, with appropriate colleague rota planning and scheduling to meet anticipated activity levels.
• Ensure the depot operates safely and that all colleagues are aware of their personal obligations and commitment to being serious about safety.
• Improve the operational effectiveness and efficiency of the depot and develop a culture of operational excellence.
• Ensure appropriate training plans are in place for all colleagues to ensure their skill and competence meet their job role requirements.
• Overall responsibility for the transport function alongside the Transport manager.

Skills & Experience

• Financial understanding and cost management.
• Operational experience gained within a fast-paced environment.
• Comfortable leading a team of operatives in a busy environment, providing leadership and development to the team.
• Knowledge of appropriate legislation and its impact on operation.
• Experience in transport management.
