Role Profile

Our client, who is a market leading textile business, is looking for a Product Developer to join their growing team based near Blackburn. You will have responsibility in ensuring all products are the highest quality and fit for purpose. In this role you will need to be able to use Illustrator and the creative boards to work towards customer deadlines and give technical advice to the internal teams. You will work closely with the sales team, sourcing team and customer service. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who has a passion for problem solving and who is going to add real value into this environment. My client is looking for someone who is hungry to learn and add their knowledge to this role. Having a technical knowledge of textiles or fabrics is essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work cross functionally with teams in the Sourcing, Sales, Customer Service, Logistics to improve and develop products and deliver technical briefs

• Develop overall project timelines and key milestones; ensure teams meet deadlines

• Creating design boards and being aware of the various product ranges

• Working closelsy with suppliers to deliver product and information for the highest quality

• Ensure project risks are managed, and communicate risks and implications to management as appropriate

• Using Illustrator for design work

• Working closely with sourcing and technical to ensure the correct materials are chosen

• Work with team to identify and execute system improvements

• Partner with operational functions to identify strategic opportunities to improve service and reduce cost across business units and execute those strategic projects within the business

• Contribute to and champion evolution of process for developing and commercializing new products

• Ensure process and tools are understood and applied by cross-functional teams

Skills & Experience

• Experience using creative boards and Illustrator

• Textile/Fabric/Garment knowledge

• An understanding of safety of design and manufacturing of products

• Familiar with cross functional, cross departmental and multi-cultural environment in a matrix organisation

• Attention to detail

• Good verbal and written communication skills

• Excellent presentation and negotiation skills
