Role Profile

Collaborate closely with both Procurement Manager and Assistant Buyer to achieve objectives, from cost reduction targets to gaining competitive advantages. Delve into Subcategories, markets, suppliers, cost drivers, and structures, exploring supplier innovation opportunities to the fullest.

• Build strong internal relationships in order to centralise and govern the procurement process
• Control the procurement budget and promote a culture of long-term saving on indirect procurement costs.
• Manage and rationalise supply base relating to indirect spend, helping drive the selection of suppliers to consolidate multi-site indirect Procurement approach.
• Monitor business trends and product availability to pay the best price for company goods and services without sacrificing quality or delivery times
• Working with the Procurement Manager and Assistant Buyer to ensure that existing procurement controls, policies and processes are adhered to and develop new controls in collaboration with the Procurement Manager to ensure best practices are conducted

Skills & Experience

• Self motivated and able to manage own workload to achieve targets set
• Demonstrates a high level of personal integrity and performance ethic
• Full understanding of Contract management and Procurement Process Procedures
• Proven negotiation skills
• Experience of drawing up ongoing management contracts
• Exemplary attention to detail
• CIPS or related business qualification is an advantage
• Working in a manufacturing environment
• Experience of using an ERP system is of benefit
