This business is going through a period of growth and the successful Service Manager will play an important role in providing a first-class service whilst further developing sales. Working with a variety of small owner-managed businesses, this job is ideal for anyone who is passionate about service and customer relationships with a proactive and hands-on attitude to their work.
Responsibilities:
- Build positive, effective relationships with customers and suppliers ensuring all reasonable customer requirements are met.
- Provide outstanding customer service either by email or phone to our customers.
- Process customer and supplier orders from receipt to completion.
- Communicate effectively with and manage internal teams to ensure orders are picked accurately and delivered on time and in full.
- Develop and implement customer service policies.
- Proactively encourage customers to place additional orders / volume where appropriate.
- Ensure an efficient response to customer requests, problems, and special needs.
- Meet next day service standards, resolve & overcome issues.
- Manage a small customer service team.
- Manage inbound sales, implement and develop outbound sales strategies.
- Liaise with third party couriers, negotiating effectively on service and rate.
Experience:
- Experience in a commercial customer account management role where you will have developed exceptional administrative skills and the ability to prioritise and work under your own initiative.
- Pleasant, polite and always professional whether face to face or via telephone - persuasive, empathetic, able to handle conflict and pressure.
- Well organised, a good problem solver and able to manage lots of information at the same time to effectively handle every day logistical challenges between suppliers and clients.
- A strong team player with excellent communication skills enabling you to liaise with people at all levels inside and outside of the organisation.
- Can work in a high paced environment, working conscientiously and proficiently.
- Be self-motivated able to use own initiative and multi-task.
