Transport Planner, Hemel Hempstead, £28,500 - £30,000 Benefits
Role Profile
We are currently representing a prestigious temperature-controlled distribution company based in Hemel Hempstead. As a Transport Planner, you will be responsible for the planning of the transport of temp-controlled products from any location to their final destination, ensuring that all products are transported efficiently and on time. You will work a 4 on 4 off shift pattern with the option to work from home 2 days per week after probation.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the planning and scheduling of transport for FMCG and QSR products
- Route planning, loading and pick-up organisation, communication with hauliers and customers where required
- Monitor and review the performance of the transportation process
- Liaise with customers and suppliers to ensure that all orders are met in accordance with customer requirements
- Maintain and update records of all transportation transactions
- Develop and implement strategies to ensure the efficient delivery of goods
- Ensure compliance with all transportation regulations
- Manage and coordinate the activities of external transport providers
- Monitor the costs associated with the transport of goods
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Transport Planner, ideally in a 3PL or retail environment
- Good knowledge of transport regulations including WTD and regulations
- Previous experience of using TMS/ routing software
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent problem-solving skills
