Transport Planner, Essex, £40,000 - £45,000 Benefits
Role Profile
We are currently representing a leading logistics business based in Essex who are looking for an experienced Transport Planner to join their growing team.
As a Transport Planner, you will be responsible for end to end routing of HGV drivers, ensuring that all products are transported efficiently and on time whilst providing exceptional customer service .
You will be working a 4 on 4 off shift pattern completing 12 hour shifts, working 8am - 8pm.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the planning and scheduling of transport
- Route planning, loading and pick-up organisation, communication with hauliers and customers where required
- To work collaboratively with the rest of the team to ensure customers requirements are met
- Monitor and review the performance of the transportation process
- Liaise with customers to ensure that all jobs are met in accordance with customer requirements and advise of any challenges or delays
- Maintain and update records of all transportation transactions
- Develop and implement strategies to ensure the efficient delivery of goods
- Ensure compliance with all transport regulations
- Monitor the costs associated with the transport of goods
Requirements:
- Ideally you will be an experienced Transport Planner, with a proven record planning for fleets of 50 vehicles
- Ability to work to tight deadlines and plan for complex logistics networks
- Good knowledge of transport regulations including WTD and regulations
- Previous experience of using TMS/ routing software
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent problem-solving skills
