Transport Supervisor
Transport Supervisor, Ellesmere Port, £30,000 Benefits
Cast UK is working with a well-established business who are looking for an experienced Transport Supervisor based at their Ellesmere Port operation.
You will report into an experienced and supportive Operations Manager, working as part of a Supervisory team of 3. You will work Monday to Friday, on a rotating shift pattern of 05:00 to 15:00, 07:00 to 17:00, 10:30 to 20:30.
What will the role involve?
- Oversee, coordinate and manage a team of drivers; consisting of both in-house and subcontractors
- Dispatching drivers, reviewing and amending routes as needed to ensure plan is executed
- Communicate and advise customers with any delays or issues, problem solving where necessary
- Accountability for debriefing drivers upon return, clarifying any issues on the road, tacho analysis etc
- Effective leadership and management developing best practice across areas of responsibility
- Ensure the performance of the operation exceeds customer expectations in line with recognised contract KPI's
- Liaise, support and develop effective working relationships with internal and external customers
What are we looking for?
- Proven experience in driver management - ideally you will have managed teams of 40 drivers in a busy transport operation
- Experience using Transport Management Systems (TMS) is essential
- Strong knowledge of transport legislation, although a CPC is not required for this role
- Flexibility - you will work across a 3 shift pattern Monday - Friday and will be required to be flexible with hours to suit business & customer requirements
- Ability to be adaptable and plan amends to routes
