Warehouse Team Leader

Theale | £30,750 Benefits | Monday - Friday, 2pm to 10pm

About the role

We're looking for an energetic, hands-on Warehouse Team Leader to lead a team of pickers and packers at a busy distribution site in Theale. You'll run the afternoon shift for a well-established business supplying the hospitality sector. Reporting to the Warehouse Supervisor, you'll make sure orders go out accurately, on time and to a high standard. You'll also keep looking for ways to work smarter.

What you'll be doing

• Leading the shift and sharing out work across the team to meet daily targets
• Managing the processing, picking and packing of orders on time
• Reviewing processes to improve picking efficiency and accuracy
• Putting planned changes to how the warehouse runs into practice
• Making sure health and safety rules and warehouse standards are followed
• Checking products for damage and reporting any discrepancies
• Helping to load and unload vehicles using safe manual handling and warehouse equipment such as forklifts and pallet trucks
• Keeping records and reports up to date on the warehouse systems
• Running 1-2-1s and performance reviews to keep the team engaged and developing
• Keeping the warehouse and equipment clean, safe and tidy

What we're looking for

• Previous experience in a warehouse, ideally in a team leader or supervisory role
• A strong working knowledge of warehouse management systems
• A track record of hitting KPIs (key performance targets) on picking accuracy and productivity
• Confidence with computers and numbers, with good written and verbal communication
• Excellent attention to detail and a methodical, organised approach
• The ability to prioritise a busy workload and act on your own initiative
• Good at building relationships and working as part of a team
• Reliable, with excellent timekeeping

• Relevant warehouse or leadership training
• Desire to learn and progress your career & skillset
