Role Profile

Bunzl UK & Ireland supplies, through a number of specialist distribution businesses, a range of more than 100,000 products including food packaging, disposable supplies, catering equipment, healthcare consumables and cleaning and safety products to supermarkets, retailers, hotels, restaurants and caterers, construction companies, healthcare providers and other users.

Currently all finance activities are managed within the different Bunzl operating companies however, the decision has been taken to create a Finance Shared Service Centre (FSSC) which will be located in Isleworth. The FSSC will manage most of the finance activity across UK & Ireland and the transition will begin in January 2021 through to the summer of 2021

As Bunzl's outsourced recruitment partner, Cast UK are delighted to be managing the recruitment of all new hires for the FSSC. As part of the new team, we are looking to recruit an Accounts Payable Manager.

As a key member of the Bunzl UK & Ireland FSSC Leadership Team, the role will oversee the implementation and management of the FSSC Accounts Payable function and related technologies. It will also develop and guide a sizeable team focused on delivering Accounts Payable related services to Bunzl UK & Ireland operating companies, while providing effective and empathetic stakeholder management for newly implemented end-user/business processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive the FSSC Accounts Payable implementation objectives for Bunzl operating companies & support the implementation of new Accounts Payable technologies
• Provide effective and empathetic stakeholder and internal customer management and oversee the training programme for newly implemented end-user/business processes
• Actively promote the benefits of FSSC Accounts Payable technology and processes supporting Bunzl's business objectives and end customers
• Develop, coach and talent manage a team of up to 30 Accounts Payable colleagues under the supervision of 5 direct reports
• Support the hiring, training, motivating and evaluating of Accounts Payable staff members
• Ensure that a customer focused mindset is applied by all Accounts Payable team members towards both internal and external business partners
• Act as escalation point for Accounts Payable support and issue resolution, related to systems and personnel performance
• Drive a culture of collaboration and compliance in identifying and implementing process improvement opportunities. Assist in the development and implementation of a continuous improvement strategy within the FSSC

Skills & Experience Required

• Must have been responsible for the Accounts Payable function in a large corporate environment (preferably in Finance Shared Services), with at least 5 years' experience in such a role.
• You will have led or provided significant Accounts Payable input into ERP and/or AP application implementations, having built strong relationships with external parties.
• You will be accustomed to process documentation and Accounts Payable controls and governance.
• Graduate calibre individual required
