Role Profile
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a thriving business FMCG in the Manchester area as an Assistant Buyer.
This is an end to end procurement role for a successful business which has won significant contracts with a number of high profile customers.
Your Key Responsibilities as an Assistant Buyer will include:
- Placing POs and expediting deliveries with a wide range of suppliers
- Answering procurement queries and resolving day to day issues across the Supply Chain
- Supporting the team with day to day purchasing activities as required
- Taking full ownership of lower value categories
- Negotiating pricing and terms with suppliers
- Identifying opportunities for cost savings and added value
- Working to drive improvements in procurement processes and supplier performance
Skills and Experience
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
- Previous experience as an Assistant Buyer in a fast paced purchasing role
- Confidence to negotiate with suppliers on terms and pricing
- Good analytical skills and working knowledge of Excel
- High attention to detail and good organisation skills
- Passion and drive to progress your career in Purchasing
