Heywood, Greater Manchester (with international travel)

Are you a Mechanical Engineer with experience working on heavy industrial equipment?
Join this well-established international manufacturer and work alongside a collaborative team supporting an impressive global client base.

You'll be based in the company's Heywood office when onsite but liaise and visit clients across the globe helping service and install heavy duty industrial equipment with another technician.

Key responsibilities:

  • Fault Finding and Repairs: Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic issues, carrying out effective repairs to minimise downtime.
  • Heavy duty Machine Servicing: Perform routine maintenance and servicing on industrial machinery to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
  • Retrofit and Upgrades: Lead the installation and integration of new technologies on existing equipment to improve machine performance and efficiency.
  • Global Technical Support: Provide both on-site and remote support to international clients, building strong relationships whilst upholding high levels of customer service.
  • Reporting and Admin: Accurately document service visits and provide detailed feedback to internal teams to support continuous product improvement.
  • Health and Safety Compliance: Adhere to strict H&S standards, carry out onsite risk assessments to maintain a safe working environment.

Ideal Skills and Experience:

  • Mechanical engineering background - HNC Qualification at minimum level 3 or above
  • Strong communication and customer service skills- A strong ability to articulate instructions and technical support remotely/over the phone.
  • Global Travel Experience - This job will require international travel, so having a background of working away is desirable.
  • Strong attention to detail with effective problem solving, troubleshooting and fault diagnosis skills.
  • Heavy Industrial Equipment Experience - Strong experience working with production machinery, packaging or within the pharmaceutical industry
