Fleet Compliance Manager

Wellingborough

£60,000 - £70,000 Car Allowance

A growing UK infrastructure services business is seeking a Fleet Compliance Manager to take ownership of fleet compliance, asset control and operational standards across two locations.

Supporting major projects nationwide, the business is expanding and needs a strong, organised professional who can ensure its fleet operation remains safe, compliant and well managed as it grows.

Working closely with the Transport Manager, you will oversee a fleet of 40 vehicles and specialist assets, including MEWPs. The role is based onsite near Wellingborough but will include infrequent travel to another site in the North East.

Key Responsibilities

● Lead the day-to-day management of the company's vehicle and plant fleet.

● Ensure full compliance with Operator Licence requirements and DVSA standards.

● Manage vehicle maintenance schedules, including PMI inspections, MOT preparation, brake testing and defect rectification.

● Monitor OCRS performance and implement corrective actions where required.

● Manage fleet procurement, replacement and disposal planning.

● Review fleet utilisation and challenge underused, duplicated or unnecessary vehicles and plant.

● Use fleet management software, telematics, cameras and tracking data to improve safety, driver behaviour and fleet performance.

● Use fuel transaction monitoring, mileage and telematics information to identify opportunities to drive efficiency and cost-savings.

● Manage relationships with maintenance providers, hire companies, fuel suppliers, insurers and other fleet partners.

● Review supplier pricing, service levels, downtime and contract performance.

● Monitor maintenance, fuel, hire, damage, tyre and other fleet-related costs.

● Produce regular management reports covering fleet performance, compliance, utilisation, expenditure and key operational risks.

● Identify and deliver practical fleet efficiencies and measurable cost reductions.

Key Skills & Experience

● Strong background working in Fleet Management with comprehensive operational, commercial and compliance knowledge

● Proficient using Fleet-related systems including telematics, fuel, camera and cost data to influence decision making

● Commercially-minded with eye for opportunities to drive efficiencies whilst maintaining service levels

● Proven record delivering change across fleet, with ability to positively influence fleet-related metrics & KPI's

● Excellent compliance knowledge including Operators license compliance and DVSA requirements

● Experience with vehicle procurement - including funding, hire management and fleet replacement
