Production Operative / Forge Assembly Operative - Heavy Engineering
Location: North West London
Salary: £27,000-£28,000 per annum
Hours: 40 hours per week (early finish every Friday)
Contract: Permanent, Full-time
About the Role
A long-established UK manufacturer based in North West London is seeking a reliable and hard-working Production Operative / Assembly Operative to join their heavy engineering and metalworking department.
This is a hands-on, physical role where you'll work with machinery, tools, and forged components to help produce high-quality metal parts used in specialist equipment.
If you enjoy practical work, are physically fit, and have experience in a workshop, manufacturing, or engineering environment - this could be an excellent opportunity to join a stable, growing business with great hours and long-term prospects.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain workshop and forge equipment (training provided).
- Assist with metal forming, pressing, and assembly of components.
- Use hand and power tools safely to complete production tasks.
- Carry out quality checks on finished parts to ensure high standards.
- Follow health & safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE at all times.
- Keep work areas clean, organised, and safe.
- Work collaboratively with other team members and supervisors to meet production targets.
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience in manufacturing, engineering, or metal fabrication preferred.
- Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling and heavier tasks.
- Good understanding of safe working practices in a workshop or factory environment.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work well as part of a team.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn new skills.
- Fluent in English (spoken and written) and comfortable following instructions.
