Role Profile:

Cast UK are supporting a growing manufacturing and distribution business based in Bedfordshire with the recruitment process of a Head of Logistics. As the Head of Logistics, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of logistics operations, including transportation, distribution, warehousing, and inventory management. You will play a pivotal role in optimizing processes, reducing costs, and enhancing efficiency to meet business objectives. This position offers an exciting opportunity to lead a dedicated team and drive continuous improvement initiatives within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement strategic plans to optimize logistics operations and improve efficiency.
• Lead and manage a team of logistics professionals, providing guidance, support, and training as needed.
• Oversee transportation activities, including carrier selection, route planning, and freight management.
• Manage inventory levels to ensure adequate stock availability while minimizing excess inventory costs.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including production, procurement, and sales teams, to coordinate logistics activities and meet customer demands.
• Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement and drive operational excellence.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies related to logistics operations.
• Evaluate vendor performance and negotiate contracts to achieve cost savings and service level agreements.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to streamline processes, reduce costs, and enhance customer satisfaction.

Previous experience:

• Proven experience in logistics management, preferably in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Solid understanding of transportation, warehousing, and inventory management principles.
• Proficiency in logistics software and ERP systems.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

£50,000 - £60,000 DOE Benefits
