Role Profile

Bunzl Catering Supplies, part of the Bunzl Catering & Hospitality Division, is the leading distributor of disposables, packaging and hygiene solutions to the hospitality and catering sectors in the UK. Delivering to a variety of customers in both the private and public sector from small independent cafe owners, local health trusts and schools to national hotel and restaurant chains.

As the exclusive recruitment partner for Bunzl Catering, Cast UK are leading the search for an IT 1st line support to be based from their head office in Epsom. The incumbent to this role will take responsibility for providing first line IT support to users in Bunzl Catering & Hospitality division and support operational procedures where appropriate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1st line IT support to end users and liaise with other support teams across the Bunzl businesses to help ensure BCHD can operate effectively and efficiently.
  • Provide Technical 1st Line Desktop, Telecoms and Supported Services
  • Operate the standard Bunzl call/ticketing system.
  • Carry out inductions of users onto the systems and provide a conduit for additional IT training requirements. Provide asset management (desk phones, mobiles, laptops, tablets and PCs), helping to ensure we maximise the useful life and maintain a replenishment plan for equipment - i.e., establish a predictable rolling programme of replacement.
  • Support of PCs, tablets, Laptops and thin clients.
  • Purchasing of appropriate hardware/software from agreed suppliers
  • Logging of support calls and escalating where appropriate.
  • Logging of network/telecoms faults to 3rd Party supplier and escalating as required.
  • Visiting additional BCHD sites as required
  • Manage the IT communication rooms in line with the Bunzl standards.
  • Assist with Laptops/PC/hardware builds.
  • Maintain Bunzl Inventory systems
  • Prioritise support cases to deal with business-critical issues.

  • CompTIA A+
  • CompTIA Network+
