Full-time, Monday to Friday (09:00-17:00)
Salary: £35,000
A leading logistics provider is seeking a Senior European Transport Operator to join their dynamic team based in Tamworth. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and proactive transport professional to play a key role in optimizing European road freight operations.
About the Role:
As a Senior Transport Operator, you'll be responsible for leading and coordinating trailer operations across Europe. Your focus will be on maximizing efficiency, reducing empty mileage, and ensuring top-tier customer service through strategic planning and strong relationship management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and manage a fleet of trucks and trailers for collections and deliveries
- Source third-party carriers when needed and ensure cost-effective charters
- Act as the escalation point for clients and internal teams
- Monitor and adapt plans to ensure timely deliveries
- Liaise with ferry operators and manage customs documentation
- Proactively track shipments and resolve in-transit issues
- Maintain accurate systems records and complete all administrative tasks
- Support compliance, safety, and continuous improvement initiatives
What We're Looking For:
Essential:
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a transport operations role, ideally at senior level
- In-depth knowledge of industry regulations (TACO, customs, etc.)
- Strong communicator with excellent planning and multitasking skills
- Proactive mindset with a commitment to outstanding customer service
Desirable:
- Experience in European trailer operations
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Location: Tamworth (Office-Based)
