Role Profile

Cast UK are supporting our client, who is a leading Retail business, in their recruitment process of a Supply Chain Manager in Castleford. This is a fantastic opportunity for a proactive Supply Chain Manager who is looking at developing a team and joining a thriving business. A large part of this role is ensuring a steady import and export of product and running the end to end Supply Chain. If you have experience in cross-continental logistics, demand planning and experience managing a team then this is the right job for you!

Key Accountabilities:

• Plan and co-ordinate detailed operational forecasts and develop seasonal plans, ensuring the best level of service is provided to the customer.
• Work closely with the wider Supply Chain team to ensure any dated or slow-moving stock is cleared in a timely manner
• Lead and ensure the effective running of a busy but relatively small Distribution Centre, including KPI management and ensuring that targets are achieved
• Develop a flexible workforce capable of handling the changing requirements of a fast-paced, growing business. This includes reviewing and implementing shift patterns to optimize performance and service
• Liaise and work closely with Far East team to ensure the smooth movement of goods into the UK and DC
• Management and ownership of business relationships with 3PL companies, ensuring expected levels of service are achieved
• Support the team with counselling, coaching and the development of all employees.
• Assist the business with any new systems initiatives to help streamline and improve operations within the warehouse

Skills & Experience

• Proven track-record of working within a fast paced environment in Operations and Logistics
• Comfortable leading a team in a busy environment, providing leadership and developing the team
• A strong communicator who is driven by continuous improvement
• Wider supply chain experience including management of 3PL's
• Experience of managing cross-continental logistics would be highly desirable
