About the Opportunity
Cast UK are supporting an expanding business with the recruitment process for a Transport Manager for a key operational site in Oxfordshire.
This is a hands-on role where you'll take full responsibility for day to day transport operations. It's well suited to someone who enjoys being on the ground, leading from the front, and driving performance across safety, compliance, and efficiency.
You'll play a critical role in managing drivers, improving fleet utilisation, and ensuring a smooth, cost-effective transport operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all transport operations, including routing, planning, and fleet utilisation
- Monitor vehicle performance and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce downtime
- Ensure full compliance with transport legislation and operator licence requirements
- Take ownership of costs, KPIs, and overall operational performance
- Lead, manage, and develop drivers, holding them accountable to high standards
- Work closely with planning and operational teams to deliver a seamless service
- Maintain accurate records and ensure audit readiness at all times
- Resolve service issues and customer concerns effectively
- Support accreditation standards such as FORS
About You
We're keen to speak with individuals who are confident, proactive, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment. You'll be someone who takes ownership, challenges performance where needed, and is driven to improve results.
You'll also bring:
- At least 3 years' experience in transport or logistics
- A minimum of 2 years managing drivers or operational teams
- A CPC qualification (or currently working towards it)
- Experience using transport management systems and routing software
- Strong knowledge of the Oxfordshire area
- A full UK driving licence
Desirable Experience
- Background in waste management, recycling, or a similar sector
- IOSH or equivalent health & safety training
Working Hours & Environment
- Monday to Friday, 07:00 - 16:30
- Site-based role within a busy operational environment
- PPE required in designated areas
Salary & Benefits
- £40,000 - £50,000 per annum (depending on experience)
