Role Title

Role Profile
Our client, a trend-led retailer based in Manchester, is looking to appoint an Allocator to join their close-knit and friendly team. Reporting into the Merchandiser, you will ensure all stock is allocated to stores and that they receive correct levels of replenishment. You will play a key part in supporting the buying, merchandising and store teams by producing sales reports and information booklets as well as completing a variety of other ad hoc tasks. This is a fantastic opportunity for a recent graduate looking to secure their first role in head office merchandising, to join an established retailer that can offer learning and development opportunities.

Responsibilities Include

  • Allocating stock to stores
  • Monitoring intake to ensure availability is maintained and sales plans are achieved
  • Production of sales reports
  • Liaising with stores and the warehouse
  • Updating intake schedules on a weekly basis
  • Aware of lines due to leave suppliers, ensuring they are shipped on time to hit delivery dates
  • Monitoring store & warehouse stock levels on core lines in order to maintain 100% availability
  • Monitoring store and warehouse levels and suggest repeats on lines where warehouse availability is decreasing
  • Answering queries relating to stock availability
  • Compiling accurate out of stock lists and weekly allocation lists
  • Using the system to create new allocations, following required critical paths to ensure the warehouse have visibility of requirements
  • Ensuring bestselling and core repeats are correctly replenished

Skills & Experience

  • A relevant degree would be advantageous (Buying & Merchandising, Business Studies etc.)
  • An interest in retail and pursuing a career in merchandising is essential along with a good understanding of what this line of work entails
  • A good level of numerical / IT ability including Microsoft Excel
  • Organised with a keen eye for detail
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to forge strong working relationships
  • Enthusiastic with a positive, happy to help attitude
