The Role

Our client based in Ashton is looking for a Buyer to join their close knit team. You will manage the end to end purchasing cycle for the business, ensuring best value and managing the supply chain to ensure delivery of all materials to site.

You will also develop and implement a more strategic and structured approach to supply chain management to ensure long term sustainable procurement strategies are in place to support business growth.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Negotiating prices and commercial terms with a wide range of suppliers
• Raising POs and expediting orders to ensure OTIF delivery to site
• Resolving day to day issues within the supply chain
• Further developing strategic supply chain management and supplier performance management measures
• Ensuring sustainable procurement strategies are maintained to ensure compliance requirements and future proof the growth and development of the business

Skills and Experience

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

• Min. 2 years' Purchasing experience
• Strong numerical skills and excellent verbal/written communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• Passion and dedication for their work
• Proficiency in all MS applications including Intermediate to Advanced Excel

Ideally candidates will also have:

• Sage accounts experience
• Part CIPS qualification (ideally achieved Merits or above in examinations)
