As the exclusive recruitment partner for Bunzl Catering group, Cast UK have been instructed to recruit a Export Sales Manager their WK Thomas team based in the Chessington area. This is a newly created role -until now WKT have managed Export accounts via the internal specialists. This role recognises that there is a significant opportunity to develop and grow this channel for the right person working in the right way and you would be expected to go and visit customers where there is genuine opportunity for growth. The Export Sales Manager will offer an unrivalled consultative approach to working with customers with a view to gaining trust and long-term business.

WK Thomas are looking for a brilliant Export Sales Manager to come and join the team. Working alongside the Sales Director, this role will allow you the freedom to work independently with as much entrepreneurial spirit as you can muster. We are looking for someone who can serve as primary relationship owner, maintaining and developing top tier key client accounts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Reporting directly to the Sales Director you will be responsible for an existing portfolio of export accounts with an annualised spend in the region of £700k currently.
  • The role will be to profitable develop and grow the existing base with full responsibility for Cash margin & GP% as well as targeting and winning new business
  • A lot of new business leads are generated via an annual exhibition which takes place in Hamburg each year but you will also be responsible for identifying and targeting your own leads
  • You will be closely supported by an Internal Buddy who will support you in dealing with enquires/price reviews etc.

A solid background of over 3 years experience of selling directly to the European market is essential. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of building existing business base and must have a proven track record of opening new business. Being able to add value to customers is essential, and you must be able to demonstrate how you have added value across multiple customers; both existing and new business. The successful candidate will be someone who has experience of managing full Margins/GP% on accounts and someone who has Proven experience at presenting to Senior levels across Procurement/NPD and other influencers. Ideally the successful candidate would be fluent or business competent in 1 other language other than English. Experience is sought of someone who has Has sold into the airline sector/shipping sector or train sector, although this is not essential.
