Role Profile
Cast UK are partnered with a leading retailer based in the North West to recruit an Import Merchandiser to join their close-knit and friendly supply chain team. After a successful 2019, this is a newly created role to support business growth. Reporting into the Supply Chain Manager, you will take control of the Critical Path and manage supply base relationships to ensure orders are produced and shopped on time whilst maximising commercial opportunities and minimising costs. You will work closely with the Buyers and Merchandisers, forging strong working relationships to ensure the business has full visibility of the status of all orders. Responsibilities Include
- Managing and maintaining the Critical Path process from start to finish, identifying any risks to the business
- Daily contact with the supply base in Turkey and Asia
- Liaising with merchandising, design centre and buyers in regards to all order updates
- Help to maintain weekly intake targets set by Merchandising alongside the Supply Chain Manager
- Act as the key contact for all inventory availability queries
- Play a key role in weekly production meetings with the design centre
- Liaising with supping to ensure goods arrive and are processed and delivered on time
- Make suggestions for improvements to supply chain processes and implement them as agreed with the Supply Chain Manager
Experience, Skills & Personal Attributes
- A minimum of 2 years' experience as an Import Merchandiser
- Working knowledge of Garment production is preferred although other areas such as Home Textiles will be considered
- Good communication, influencing and negotiation skills
- Basic knowledge of Incoterms and financial documents
- Knowledge and experience of shipping documentation; ATR's, BL's etc.
- Excellent computer skills, particularly Microsoft Excel
- Highly organised
- Confident with strong interpersonal skills
- Confidence in suggesting calculated risks
- Able to travel to factories outside the UK up to 4 times a year
