Interim Buyer

Role Profile

Our Leeds based Engineering client is looking for a Buyer to join their team on a 6 month contact.

This is a varied purchasing role and will be a great opportunity to support the team on a high profile project.

Key areas of responsibility will include:


  • Conducting end to end sourcing activities for a range of services required by the site
  • Drafting and issuing tenders and evaluating supplier bids
  • Negotiating contracts with existing and new suppliers
  • Raising POs and setting up contracts in SAP
  • Monitoring supplier performance
  • Rationalising the suplier base


Skills and Experience

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • Previous experience in a procurement role within an engineering or manufacturing environment
  • Confident expediter and negotiator
  • Experience managing tender processes
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Good working knowledge of Excel and ERP system, ideally SAP
