Role Profile

Bruni Erben is a leading supplier of glass, closures & machinery for the spirits, beverage, food, pharmaceutical and home fragrance markets. Founded in 1951, the company has developed & diversified and today offers an extensive catalogue of stock items, a design team which delivers world-class expertise to yield extraordinary results on bespoke products, and industry leading technical support. As part of the Berlin Packaging Group, the business continues to go from strength to strength and has ambitious yet realistic growth targets to further improve their offering to customers, and are looking to recruit a Logistics Director to help drive this. Reporting to the CEO UK, the Logistics Director will be responsible for all operational elements of goods import, warehousing and delivery, providing excellent customer service as efficiently as possible. While oversight of daily operations is critical, much of this role will be focussed on business improvement and growth, both organic and by acquisition.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversight of day to day logistics, ensuring excellence in service whilst maintaining a focus on efficiency
  • Improvement and definition of internal processes, including the interfaces with other functions, to facilitate excellent customer service and maximise efficiencies.
  • Delivery of a cost down plan, based on a number of workstreams including process efficiency at item 2 above, reducing costs to the current UK business
  • Support the UK Integration Officer in the seamless absorption of new businesses into the UK Logistics Network.
  • Support the UK Integration Officer in the design and implementation of a refined UK logistics network, including the rationalisation of 3PL locations and providers, the optimisation of the self-managed footprint and the set up of a new warehouse.
  • Development of new processes, software and relationships associated with Brexit conformance.
  • Improve relationships and processes interfacing with other functions
  • Improve morale and engagement within the Logistics function
  • Deliver positive engagement in change processes
  • Energise the logistics team in readiness for a significant growth program
  • Renew focus on Health and Safety

Key Skills & Experience

  • Strong leadership skills with entrepreneurial spirit
  • 3PL experience/ background managing strategic third-party relationships
  • Experience of managing projects such as rationalising networks would be highly desirable
  • Good communicator with ability to influence at all levels
  • Proven record in business improvement, including cost reduction, process improvement
