Role Profile

A key role in the Sales and Operations Planning process (S&OP), responsible for providing and reviewing demand forecasts for finished goods, accessories and after sales products; ensuring supply is kept in line with customer demand in accordance with budgeted inventory policies; building and maintaining service levels within the Supply Chain through relationships with suppliers, customers and warehouses.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop effective forecast models based on industry trends and demand patterns.
  • Monitor and report on important changes in sales forecasts
  • Working with Sales and Marketing to review and agree demand forecasts, complementing system generated forecasts
  • Determine solutions to improve demand forecast accuracy
  • Balancing demand with supply while keeping within strict days supply targets, using relevant demand planning tools.
  • Work closely with Global Planning teams and external suppliers to improve lead times, inventory holding and customer serviceability
  • Manage supply issues and develop alternative plans where delivery schedules cannot be improved
  • Manage end of life processes in conjunction with Sales and Marketing to ensure that slow moving and excess inventory is minimised
  • KPI reporting and control analysis on measures such as (but not limited to) Inventory, Supplier Performance, Forecast Accuracy, Fill Rate, Slow Moving and Excess Inventory
  • Develop and manage improvement projects within Planning and Supply Chain

Skills & Experience

  • Educated to degree level in business, supply chain or other relevant fields
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in a demand planning/forecasting role
  • Strong IT / PC skills with advanced experience of Microsoft packages. Experience of using demand planning software will be an advantage
  • Strong analytical skills with demonstrated proficiency in forecasting methods and inventory management practices
  • Excellent communicator with strong presentation skills
  • Resilient and able to work on own initiative in a fast-paced environment
  • Commercially aware
