Role Profile
Cast UK are thrilled to be working with a market leading British retailer to recruit a Senior Merchandiser to join their close-knit and friendly head office team based in South London. You will play a key role in driving growth in this globally-expanding business across multiple channels and markets. This is a fast-paced working environment where you will need to hit the ground running, therefore it's essential that you are currently working at established Merchandiser level or above, within a retail head office and have experience managing a team. You will be a highly commercial, team player with a collaborative approach to working. This agile business allows ambitious and hardworking individuals the chance to bring and implement new ideas / ways of working therefore this is a fantastic opportunity for someone to put their mark on a role.

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Setting the departmental strategy alongside Senior Buyer, incorporating both own brand & branded products
  • Range planning across all channels (globally)
  • Setting of seasonal & weekly budgets
  • Driving to hit all sales & profit targets whilst managing stock levels within OTB budgets
  • Analysing departmental performance to maximise opportunities both in season & influence the longer-term product strategy
  • Presenting to senior management and having a track record in influencing at a senior level
  • Ensure the customer is at the heart of the decision-making process
  • Challenge & improve processes to create a more efficient and collaborative working environment for the Merchandising team
  • Drive changes and efficiencies within the Merchandising function
  • Managing and developing a team of 4

Experience, Skills & Personal Attributes

  • Currently working as an established Merchandiser or Senior Merchandiser within a retail head office is essential
  • Knowledge of bricks and mortar retail would be advantageous
  • Strong commercial acumen, planning and trading skills
  • Analytical and numerate
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Highly organised, problem solver
  • Experienced in managing teams
  • Strategic with a passion for / vision of the future of the brand
