About the candidate

A highly accomplished Head of Logistics professional with a proven track record of developing and delivering Service and Supply Chain strategies across B2B relationships. Experience across 3rd party, in house and manufacturing operations. Skilled in developing and implementing logistics strategies for service improvements as well as new operations. Extensive experience in managing managers and teams in operational, administration and small contact centre environments, while developing and maintaining senior level stakeholder relationships.

What makes them great?

  • Has been responsible for developing and delivering all elements of the finished goods logistics operation strategy and activity, including Importing goods, 3pl UK warehousing and distribution management, and Exporting goods.  
  • Returned UK service level to above 99% (within first 6 months of previous role) following 18 months of average service level c. 96% (post 3PL warehouse move in 2021)
  • Implemented an overhaul of Export processes to streamline goods out and reduce costs – key areas included decreasing lead time for pick / pack, reducing packaging and associated costs (annual reduction c. £110k), and improving service level
  • Implemented new SAP process relating to Logistics and Export, including implementing stock reconciliation processes with 3pl systems, new blocked stock and destruction processes, 3PL interface review and export pro-forma invoicing
  • Recovered service levels and building retailer trust following significant disruption through the COVID pandemic, returning logistics service to 98.5%, including onboarding new hauliers as part of the move from single sourcing to multiple partners (following the 2021 driver shortages)
  • Identified and implemented cost savings of c. £750k across customer routes to market, as part of the management of the company’s £20m UK & Ireland 3PL contracts
  • Delivered incremental Cost to Serve savings across Off-Trade – 2017 4%, 2018 70%, 2019 110% ahead of budget
