Role Profile
Our client is a global leader in designing, producing and delivering exceptional products for the most successful sporting events in the world, such as UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa league and FIFA World Cup. They are looking for a Merchandiser to join their business to suggest products, suppliers and designs for their company catalogues

Key Responsibilities

• Working closely with the sales team to understand the markets and customers and very importantly potential markets / customers
• Working closely with the buyers and studio to plan product ranges
• Meeting with suppliers, distributors and customers
• Predicting sales and profits, and analysing sales performance
• Preliminary negotiating quantities and delivery timescales
• Managing levels and distribution of stock, and placing orders
• Handling supply/production problems as they arise
• Setting stock promotions/price reductions as appropriate
• Update and manage critical path weekly
• Liaise weekly with direct team, merchandising and technical through garment approval stages and update critical path
• Delegate or approve fabrics, colours and garment trims to delivery
• Attend fit sessions and approve through quickest technical staging
• Report to Buyer on QC issues and possible solutions
• Raise and follow through debit notes for late deliveries
• Ensure timely delivery of SMS and photo shoot samples according to critical path
• Manage invoicing and courier charges for SMS samples (according to budget)
• Arrange samples for sign off, take notes and liaise on amendments to range plans
• Off-site visits to suppliers, customers, and exhibitions, including travel abroad

Skills, Experience & Personal Attributes
The ideal candidate will be an existing Merchandiser with creative flair, or a commercial and analytical Buyer with stock management experience, with a strong brand and commercial understanding on apparel and souvenir/novelty products

• Experience in similar role (minimum 5 years)
• Good knowledge of apparel and production techniques
• Skilled at identifying trends
• Commercial awareness and acumen
• Communication skills
• Leadership skills
• Strong numerical and analytical skills
• IT skills - Microsoft office
