Role Profile
Our client, a leading clothing supplier based in Stockport, is looking to employ an experienced and true Import Merchandiser to join their growing team. Working as part of a close-knit and friendly team, this is an important role where you will have responsibility for managing a number of suppliers and customer accounts, ensuring all orders are fulfilled at the right price, to the right spec and within the agreed timeframes. This is an incredibly fast-paced role where you will be required to show initiative and hit the ground running as the business has recently won a new, large account, which is the reason for adding an additional person into the team. This is an exciting opportunity for a driven individual with a solid grounding in import merchandising to join a fast-paced and growing business that can offer further development opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Placing orders, negotiating and managing dates with suppliers in China, Bangladesh, Pakistan etc.
- Managing the production process from order placement to delivery
- Critical path management ensuring deadlines are met
- Building and maintaining strong supplier relationships & building internal relationships with all departments
- Managing a high number of suppliers and orders
- Liaising with suppliers on a daily basis
- Raising purchase orders and various other administrative tasks
Skills & Experience
- Currently working as an established and strong Import Merchandiser within a similar business in order to hit the ground running
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage a large number of suppliers and orders
- Approachable, team player
- Confident with the ability to push back to suppliers and get the best out of supplier relationships
- Excellent communication skills
- Not afraid to chase others for business-critical information or to complete duties in a timely manner
- Driven, hardworking and eager to go the extra mile
- Enthusiastic and keen to develop skills further
