Role Profile
Cast UK are delighted to be recruiting a Payroll Manager for Bunzl UK & Ireland which is part of Bunzl PLC, a multinational distribution and outsourcing company headquartered in London and active in 30 countries. In total there are 5 Divisions and 25 operating companies.
The Payroll Manager has responsibility for ensuring c3,800 UK & Ireland Staff, along with c1,300 Pensioners are paid accurately and on time, in line with current legislation. In addition, they have to ensure that all statutory returns are made on a timely basis, and that any returns to the Payroll associated providers, are also made on a timely basis, along with internally reporting to the Group's Finance Teams.
The Payroll Manager also oversees the Company Car Fleet which is run day to day by the Fleet Administrator but will be authorising any new car orders. The role requires the individual not only to oversee, but also to be involved in the day to day processing of employee data.
Key Responsibilities
- Continue to provide a good service to the Operating Businesses
- Look at ways to improve efficiencies and service
- Be supportive to the Team as and when required
- Demonstrate a strong partnership with HR, Management, Finance, Accounting, IT, and suppliers.
- Work closely with the HRIS Project Manager on the continuous improvement of the Payroll Process
- Work closely with PLC Tax Manager
- Support maintenance of standard operating procedures to ensure current processes are accurately documented.
- Collaborate effectively with key internal stakeholders.
- Provide regular communication and training on processes and systems for employees and suppliers.
- Manage, coordinate, and support special projects as needed.
- Actively promotes the Bunzl Health, Safety and Environment ethos among own team.
Skills & Experience Required
- CIPP Qualified
- Substantial experience of managing a complex Payroll function
- 5 years experience of managing, leading and motivating a team
- Experience of processing Payroll in multi-currencies
- Strong planning and problem-solving skills.
- Strong Written Communication, presenting written information in a grammatically correct manner.
