Quality Manager
Global Manufacturing | Fire Protection Systems | Critical Infrastructure
Full-Time | Permanent | Competitive Salary Package

An established international manufacturing business operating within highly regulated fire protection and critical infrastructure sectors is seeking an experienced Quality Manager to lead and develop its global quality function.

This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for owning and continuously improving the organisation's Quality Management System (QMS) across multiple international manufacturing locations. You will drive consistency, compliance, and operational excellence across the full manufacturing lifecycle, from raw material receipt through production, assembly, inspection, testing, and final dispatch.

Working closely with senior leadership, you will act as the global authority on quality, ensuring all products meet customer specifications, regulatory obligations, and industry standards, while fostering a culture of right-first-time manufacturing and continuous improvement.

The Role

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading, maintaining, and improving the global QMS in line with ISO 9001 and relevant standards
  • Standardising quality processes, inspection criteria, and documentation across multiple manufacturing sites
  • Managing internal audits, third-party audits, and certification programmes
  • Driving non-conformance management, CAPA, root cause analysis, and 8D investigations
  • Overseeing in-process quality controls across fabrication, assembly, wiring, testing, and dispatch
  • Developing supplier quality programmes, supplier audits, and incoming inspection strategies
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant fire protection, suppression, and detection standards
  • Supporting product quality requirements for critical infrastructure and data centre environments
  • Leading global quality teams, mentoring site quality managers, engineers, and inspectors
  • Driving lean quality initiatives including FMEA, SPC, MSA, control plans, and continuous improvement projects
  • Presenting quality KPIs and strategic performance data to senior stakeholders

About You

We are looking for a driven and technically strong quality leader with:

  • Degree, HND, or HNC in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, or related field
  • Lead Auditor qualification for ISO 9001
  • Proven quality management experience within manufacturing
  • Strong experience managing site or multi-site QMS, ideally across international locations
  • Background in regulated product manufacturing, ideally within fire protection, engineered systems, or critical infrastructure
  • Excellent knowledge of ISO 9001, audits, CAPA, supplier quality, and inspection planning
  • Experience with root cause analysis, FMEA, SPC, and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Strong leadership capability across geographically dispersed teams
  • Confidence working across shop floor operations, suppliers, customers, and executive stakeholders
  • Flexibility for regular international travel

Desirable

  • Six Sigma certification
  • CQI membership or chartership pathway
  • Fire protection industry experience
  • Exposure to data centre or mission-critical infrastructure environments
  • Knowledge of ISO 14001 / ISO 45001

What's on Offer

  • Competitive salary commensurate with experience
  • Company pension
  • 25 days holiday plus bank holidays
  • Private healthcare (subject to eligibility)
  • Professional development support
  • A genuine opportunity to shape and lead global quality strategy within a growing international manufacturing business

If you are an ambitious Quality Manager looking for a global leadership challenge within a technically demanding and fast-paced manufacturing environment, we'd like to hear from you.
