Role Profile
Cast UK are looking to recruit a Buyer for our manufacturing client in Skipton.
Scapa is a global supplier of bonding solutions and manufacturer of adhesive-based products for the Healthcare and Industrial markets. They have a wide reaching global footprint, with 19 manufacturing and operations facilities in 10 countries across Europe, North and South America and Asia
This role is a strategic Purchasing opportunity within Scapa's Healthcare business and will suit a driven and enthusiastic individual
Key responsibilities will include:
- Working cross-functionally with the departments ensuring excellent internal and external relationships
- Responsible for a range of categories including Chemical, Packaging and Substrates
- Sourcing new suppliers and maintaining excellent relationships with current suppliers
- Agreeing commercial terms and long term contracts / agreements
- Delivering cost savings to the business through appropriate procurement strategies
Skills and Experience
The successful candidate will have
- Purchasing experience in an engineering, manufacturing or FMCG environment
- Track record of working strategically with suppliers to deliver cost savings added value or supply chain efficiencies
- Excellent communication skills with proven experience with supplier management
- Strong negotiation skills and commercial acumen
- Proven interpersonal and communication skills
- Good working knowledge of SAP (or any MRP system)
