Our client is a VC-backed business going through an exciting period of change. As Operations Director you will be accountable to end-to-end operational performance across warehouse & production operations, quality, and health & Safety on site.
This is a site-based role and you'll be responsible for driving real change across the business - including implementing warehouse efficiencies, improving data visibility and KPI dashboards.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide overall leadership for the site, acting as the senior representative of the business and ensuring alignment between local operations and wider business strategy.
- Lead and integrate all site functions, establishing cross-functional governance forums to drive performance, priorities, risk management, and operational execution.
- Lead warehouse, production, and quality operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective performance across the site.
- Own the delivery of operational KPIs across health & safety, quality, service, productivity, cost, inventory, and customer performance.
- Ensure effective production scheduling and warehouse operations by optimising labour, materials, capacity, inventory, and workflow to meet customer demand.
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement through standardised processes, root cause analysis, operational excellence, and successful delivery of business transformation initiatives.
- Maintain full accountability for health, safety, quality, and regulatory compliance, ensuring robust governance, audit readiness, and continuous improvement.
- Build, develop, and lead a high-performing operations leadership team through coaching, clear accountability, succession planning, and employee engagement.
- Partner with Commercial, Supply Chain, HR, and regional leadership teams to align operational capability with business strategy and deliver exceptional customer outcomes.
- Act as the senior escalation point for site operations and people matters, fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture aligned with company values.
Key Skills & Experience
- Significant operational leadership experience across warehousing and manufacturing environments
- Proven accountability for leading site performance - including responsibly for safety, quality, service and cost
- Demonstrated experience delivering change - including building operational standards, SOP's, driving warehouse efficiencies etc
- Experience supporting ERP implementations would be advantageous
- Experience working in a volume, high-SKU environment - this is not a pallet in- pallet out operation
