Are you an experienced Warehouse Manager with a background in food, FMCG or wholesale distribution? Do you thrive in fast-paced environments, enjoy leading teams through change, and have a passion for driving operational excellence?
We're working with a rapidly growing food distribution business that is looking to appoint an experienced Warehouse Manager on an immediate basis.
This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll take responsibility for the day-to-day warehouse operation, focusing on goods in, stock put-away, replenishment and warehouse efficiency. You'll inherit a team that requires strong leadership, motivation and structure as the business continues through an exciting period of growth.
The role is typically Monday to Friday, usually 7am - 3pm, however the role will require some flexibility in line with business needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Leading the day shift warehouse operation, overseeing goods in, stock put-away and replenishment activities.
- Managing small team of warehouse colleagues, with two direct reports including 2 x Supervisors.
- Driving improvements in performance, attendance, engagement and morale.
- Ensuring warehouse processes are efficient, compliant and consistently followed.
- Maintaining high levels of stock accuracy and inventory control using a Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Managing goods-in deliveries and resolving any stock discrepancies.
- Ensuring FEFO principles and temperature-controlled storage procedures are adhered to.
- Working closely with transport, purchasing and supply chain teams to ensure products are available when required.
- Monitoring operational KPIs and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
- Managing attendance, performance and disciplinary matters where required.
- Promoting a strong health & safety culture and ensuring compliance with food safety standards.
Key Skills & Experience
- We're looking for an established Warehouse Manager who has experience operating in a fast-moving food environment and understands the pace and demands of temperature-controlled distribution.
- Proven experience managing warehouse operations within foodservice, wholesale, FMCG or chilled/frozen food distribution.
- Experience working with ambient, chilled and frozen products.
- Strong people management skills with experience leading teams through change.
- Experience using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
- Excellent knowledge of stock control, replenishment and warehouse processes.
- A process-driven mindset with a focus on improving efficiencies.
- Confidence managing performance, attendance and employee engagement.
- A resilient and proactive approach with the ability to introduce fresh ideas and best practice.
