Role Profile

Our client is based in the Lichfield area and is a growing organisation specialising in transport and waste management services. Reporting to the transport manager you will be responsible for the day to day planning activity across the waste fleet. Typically, you will work Monday to Friday 7-5 and on call every other Saturday.

Key Responsibilities

• Planning utilisation and routing for all vehicles, ensuring all on time
• Maximise vehicle/driver utilisation and efficiency
• Prioritise and change routes as and when required
• Dealing with telephone enquiries from customers, drivers and colleagues
• Processing collections and deliveries on an internal system
• Day to day use of TMS

Skills, Experience & Personal Attributes

• Strong geographical knowledge
• Experience using automated transport routing systems
• Ability to work under pressure in busy, fast paced environment
• Team player with a hands-on approach
• Proactive approach to problem solving
• Ability to work on own initiative
• Ability to communicate well with people at all levels within the Organisation
• Attention to detail and organisation skills
• Tipper planning experience desirable but not essential
