Role Profile
Bunzl Catering Supplies, part of the Bunzl Catering & Hospitality Division, is the leading distributor of disposables, packaging and hygiene solutions to the hospitality and catering sectors in the UK. Delivering to a variety of different customers in both the private and public sector from small independent cafe owners, local health trusts and schools to national hotel and restaurant chains.
As the exclusive recruitment partner for the Bunzl Catering & Hospitality Division, Cast UK is leading the search for an Transport Planner, to be based at their National Distribution Centre in Tamworth. The incumbent must have a strong understanding of road transport operations, including EU drivers hours regulations, operator licensing requirements, and excellent geographical knowledge of UK road networks.
Key Responsibilities
- You will take responsibility for the routing, optimisation, and allocation of resources of a national multi-drop network
- Oversee the management of exports orders and administering centralised compliance functions and system access.
- You will be required to produce daily reports to track ordering and network performance
- Ensure all centralised compliance functions are managed in line with process i.e. driver CPC monitoring, vehicle insurance checks, operator licence updates
- Manage fleet profile including number of and type of vehicles, mileage, and running costs in line with business requirements
- Input into network strategy supporting the Transport Development Planner with scenario modelling and data analysis
- Assist with the management of key performance indicators to measure the effectiveness of the planning function and the wider transport operation
