Late Shift Supervisor

Role Profile

The role of a Late Shift Supervisor is a physically demanding role that requires a basic level of English and numeric skills to allow the comprehensive auditing of picking and loading in a timely and accurate manner, location of goods and traceability of items with a product code. This role is best suited to an individual who can work on their own initiative and lead/supervise a team, as duties will involve regular repetitive tasks that require attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct all activities of warehouse staff
  • Ensure that staff comply with policies and procedures, safety rules, and government regulations
  • Coach, train, manage the performance of warehouse operatives
  • Continuously assess staff against identified performance criteria and address issues of performance and conduct within the branch and deal with these by applying Bunzl HR policies.
  • Ensure all training requirements are met and regularly reviewed- reporting to Warehouse Manager
  • Monitor and review attendance of staff - reporting to Warehouse Manager
  • Oversee loading of goods and the checking into the vans is accurate, reporting any short orders to Warehouse Manager and Stock Controllers. Keeping paperwork and systems up to date accordingly.
  • Check for damaged or missing items and resolve, report your findings to the Late Shift Manager
  • Pick goods accurately and build pallets safely
  • Ensure goods are stored correctly into locations and adequate Replens are conducted daily.
  • Ensure that stock is stored to allow safe storage, lifting, and lowering. Moving stock around by hand, using lifting gear or a forklift truck
  • Assist in loading vehicles, working with the drivers to ensure compliance with all legal requirements on vehicle loading and to ensure pallets are stacked safely.
  • Keep records of stock and paperwork up to date, cross function communication.
  • Work efficiently and effectively as part of a team.
  • Ensure the warehouse/yard is always kept clean and tidy, spillages promptly cleared, waste minimised.
  • Maintain high levels of Health and Safety standards
  • Achieve targets and job standards set out by the Warehouse Manager
  • Adaptable and flexible in approach to work
  • Discharge duties in a safe manner in accordance with relevant legislation and Bunzl EHS policies.
  • Report hazards immediately and use all equipment provided in accordance with safe working practices.
  • Carry out stock checks as directed by senior management team and provide analysis.
  • Ensure all warehouse operatives complete their work on time, accurately and efficiently; investigate issues as and when required.
