Role Profile

My client, a leading high street fashion retailer, is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and numerically confident Merchandising Admin Assistant to join their head office team based in Essex. Supporting the Assistant Merchandiser in a design led and fashion forward Head Office, you will pay a key part in the merchandising function of the business. This is an exciting opportunity for a confident, ambitious and trend led Merchandising Admin Assistant or Merchandising graduate to join a high street retailer at the forefront of the market.

Responsibilities

  • To ensure that the optimum levels of stock are in the appropriate stores at the right time to maximise each stores sales and profit potential
  • Set up and manage store grading and re-grading, including identifying opportunities to grow sales or reduce markdowns through adjusting the grading
  • Allocate the initial stock quantities to stores ensuring in line with plans, reviewing each line in context of the current performance to maximise sales on every line
  • Manage the replenishment controls and replenishment factors in light of stock levels, category performance, product performance, trading calendars and seasonal trade to stock
  • Review store and online performance on an on-going basis, highlight opportunities to increase sales and profit and take actions where needed
  • Ensure all new stores are appropriately stocked with a package to potentialise sales and profit
  • Manage the Distribution Centre stock, ensuring stock is cleared in line with agreed targets, highlighting any over/under stocks

Skills and Experience

  • Very analytical, with knowledge of using excel and databases
  • Fashion aware with an understanding of high street trends and competitors
  • Ability to work to deadlines
  • Strong communication and organisation skills
  • Motivated, with the ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
  • A fashion, business or numerical related degree is desirable
  • GCSE Maths grade C or abov
