Role Profile
Part of the FTSE100 listed Bunzl PLC, Bunzl Healthcare is one of the UK's largest distributors of leading branded and own-brand medical consumables to all areas of the healthcare market. They offer a range of traditional and bespoke supply chain solutions to meet their customers' requirements in today's rapidly changing healthcare environment.
Following a recent restructure within Healthcare's Buying team, they are now looking to add a new Buyer to the team. Reporting into the Head of Procurement, the incoming Buyer will be responsible for:
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with the Sales representatives to support the delivery of agreed customer and supplier action plans
- Develop effective working relationships with a wide range of other stakeholder departments including Finance, inventory and operations
- Develop an understanding of your designated categories to help drive improved category performance
- Work closely with the Head of Procurement, Sales and Inventory leads to develop and then deliver agreed specific category improvement projects
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with all your lead designated suppliers
- Develop and foster effective relationships with other suppliers in your categories
- Hold regular business review meetings with your key suppliers and deliver targeted action plans to improve category performance
- Work closely with Sales, suppliers to identify improved sales and margin growth opportunities
- Identify category gaps and source new suppliers to fill them
- Manage category margins and sell through prices through effective negotiation
- As required support the Head of Procurement and other buyers with their negotiations
Skills & Experience Required
- Previous experience as a Buyer in a fast paced purchasing role
- Buying experience within the healthcare sector would be highly desirable
- Confidence to negotiate with suppliers
- Good analytical skills and working knowledge of Excel
- High attention to detail and good organisation skills
- Passion and drive to progress your career in Purchasing
