Indirect Procurement Manager

Role Profile

Our client is a market leader in the FMCG industry located in West Yorkshire. They are looking for an Indirect Procurement Manager who will be able to work proactively with different departments and manage a spend for various items to support company needs. You will need to be a strong communicator, relationship builder and be able to bring your experienced skill set to the role.

Responsibilities

  • Ownership of all indirect suppliers, making sure there are sourcing strategies in place for all areas of indirect spend.
  • Periodically reviewing suppliers to identify areas of improvement along with maintaining a strong relationship.
  • Liaise with other departments within the company to build beneficial working relationships.
  • Prepare analyses of spend data, category supplier bases and cost models.
  • Reduce business risk by implementing contractual framework agreements for all indirect suppliers.
  • Decrease expenditure by creating methods to analyse and calculate costs of procurement.
  • Establish and partner with trustworthy vendors and suppliers. Ensuring the CR and SMETA standards are adhered to.
  • Highlight to the business potential areas of improvement in industry best practice and future trends for all areas of indirect spend.

Skills & Experience

Skills and personal qualities considered to be essential to the role are:

  • Procurement experience in a range of indirect categories. An example of some of these would include, engineering and mechanical parts, supply chain services, labour services and energy.
  • Clear Communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Supplier relationship building and supplier management.
  • Experience with excel, word and other ERP's.
  • Expertise in contract negotiation and agreements.
  • Demonstrated experience of working within a team and some previous experience of coaching and mentoring others.
  • Ability to establish supplier specifications, measure and drive conformance to specifications and manage internal and external suppliers to achieve your desired result.
