Role Profile

Our client is a manufacturing company in the Skipton area currently looking to appoint a Procurement Manager.

In this role you will be responsible for leading a small purchasing team and managing Direct and Indirect procurement for the business.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage end to end purchasing activity for Direct and Indirect spend
  • Develop effective sourcing strategies for key / critical categories
  • Lead tendering processes and commercial negotiations with suppliers, awarding formal supply contracts
  • Lead SRM activities and manage supplier performance
  • Work pro-actively with the supplier base to achieve cost savings and supply chain improvements
  • Provide reporting and analysis on spend data and critical KPIs
  • Provide leadership and direction to a small purchasing team

Skills & Experience

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • Previous purchasing experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment
  • Strategic Procurement / Category Management skills
  • Strong negotiation and supplier management skills
  • Proven stakeholder engagement and change management skills
  • Previous experience leading and managing a purchasing team
