Role Profile
Bunzl Lockhart supply the largest range of light and heavy equipment available to UK caterers. Operating out of their NDC in Theale Berkshire, they provide next day delivery on thousands of stocked items, and their product range comprises of more than 18,000 SKU's. These includes tableware & crockery, glassware & barware, kitchen equipment, chefs clothing & footwear, catering appliances and refrigeration.
An internal move within the business has led to the requirement for a new Sales Director. Reporting into the Managing Director, this role will form part of the board team and will have overall responsibility for all regional, national and key account sales encompassing both new business generation and upselling with current customers. Key responsibilities will:
- Leading the sales growth in line with company targets
- Liaison with the MD to develop the future sales strategy. This will involve identification of both market and target customer strategies
- Develop the annual sales plan, providing weekly, monthly and quarterly updates, revisions and modifications to the plan
- Line manager responsibility for the senior sales leadership team
- Understand the Bunzl Lockhart USP and tailor it to add value to the customer
Skills & Experience
This is key role within the senior leadership team at Bunzl Lockhart and will help shape and drive the strategic growth of the business for many years to come. Candidates are sought who can demonstrate a proven background in leading, developing and growing a sales division within a customer driven supply chain environment. Experience of selling into the hotel and/or restaurant sectors would be advantageous.
Strong leadership experience is sought and the ability to communicate effectively with new and existing customers is essential. An innovative, conceptual and analytical thinker with a strong commercial acumen is what the Bunzl Lockhart business is looking for.
The Sales Director will have a national remit therefore there will be a requirement to travel throughout the UK to both customer and supplier locations. Whilst this is a national remit there would be a preference for the Sales Director to be conveniently located for easy access to the Midlands and South of the UK.
